Oteng lives his boxing dream

At only 20 years old, national team boxer, Oteng Oteng has achieved what his peers can only dream of. Last month, he had his moment of glory when he won a bronze at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India.

The youngster recently beat much-experienced opponents to land the prestigious boxer of the year crown after the national boxing championships. He is the reigning Zone VI champion in the 52kg category. Last year, he was named the emerging boxer of the year.

Oteng attributes his success to his coach and mentor, Lechedzani 'Master' Luza, a former boxer and 2002 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist. He started training under Luza as a 14-year-old at Nanogang Junior Secondary School. He has always dreamt of being a successful boxer.
