PASSOBO in sponsored walk

Paralympics Association of Botswana (PASSOBO) will embark on a wheelchair-sponsored walk in Gaborone tomorrow to raise money for the organisation as well as create awareness about people with disabilities.

The sponsored walk starts at 6am from the Mass Media Complex and ends in Phakalane.

Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) vice chairperson Nomsa Mbere, people with disabilities representative in the Office of the President (OP) Thomas Motingwa and Standard Chartered Bank chief executive officer (CEO) David Cutting will be among the walkers. The association wants to raise funds for the National Bames that are scheduled for November 12-13 in Gaborone. The association secretary general, Tendani Magazine said they are on the verge of reaching their target of P150, 000 needed for the games.  They held a sponsored walk in Mochudi last month. Magazine said the association would like to start holding regional competitions, as qualifiers for the National Games.
