A panel of three judges will, this afternoon, deliver the much-awaited judgement in a case in which the Law Society of Botswana (LSB) sued President Ian Khama over the rejection of a veteran attorney as High Court Judge.

Last year, Khama rejected the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to appoint Omphemetse Motumise to the bench. The panel of three judges: Singh Walia, Abednico Tafa and Phadi Solomon will deliver judgement. In his supplementary replying affidavit, the LSB executive secretary, Tebogo Moipolai, said attached to his affidavit was an excerpt of the minutes of the Bechuanaland Independent Conference held in London in 1966.
