Herdsman accused of raping teen girl

FRANCISTOWN: Police in Matsiloje are investigating a case in which a man aged between 30 and 35 from Matopi in the Northeast District allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl on the outskirts of the village on Sunday evening last week.

Matsiloje station commander, Superintendent Booker Osupile, revealed that the girl was on the same night referred to Nyangabwe Referral Hospital after the incident where the doctor's report confirmed that she was raped.

According to Osupile, the accused herdsman met the victim with her friends a few metres outside the village where he asked them about the whereabouts of his goats.
