Six suspects believed to be members of a gang that has been terrorising residents of Mogoditshane were yesterday remanded in custody for a further three months by Broadhurst Magistrate court. The suspects have appeared on counts of murder and robbery.

When denying bail to the accused men on Monday, Presiding magistrate Babedi Mothuba advised them to apply for bail at the High Court if they wished to do so.

The suspected gang members are Aubrey Gobonwang (24), Mosimanegape Khumalo (22), Botlhe Seadimo (22), Ithuteng Lucas (18), Boitshoko Boitshoko (18) and Ontiretse Sethole (21). Accordijng to the prosecution the men on the night of March 13, 2015 at Nkoyaphiri ward in Mogoditshane village, acted jointly and murdered a soldier, Ontuetse Masaseng. Earlier on, prosecuting officer, Sub Inspector Tsogo Rantope requested that the accused be further remanded in custody, saying that their file was waiting to be submitted to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
