FRANCISTOWN: A junior secondary school student and two teenage boys were arraigned in court on Thursday on charges of gang-raping a 29-year-old woman. All the accused are 18-years-old.

The matter was adjourned to January 22. Attorney, Karabo Pogiso, volunteered to represent the trio pro bono and sought time to consult them. “I offer to assist the accused on a pro bono basis and I apply that another mention date be set to consult further with them,” Pogiso told the court.

The three are alleged to have raped a woman at Block One location in Francistown in May this year after drinking alcohol at a party. It is said the boys realised the woman was heavily intoxicated, so they followed her while she left the party to go home and gang-raped her.
