Third body found, victims names released

The body of the third man involved in the Lake Ngami canoe accident was found at 9:30 am today (November 4), Sehithwa police station commander, Superintendant Zakes Masike has confirmed.

The 42-year-old, Mr Mahindi Peti from Gani in the Shakawe area was retrieved by the Botswana Police Service and Botswana Defence Force scuba divers who have been searching the lake since Sunday, November 2. Mr Peti, a local fisherman, was owner of the canoe 

Supt Masike also disclosed names of the other two victims. They are Mr Geoffrey Makgolo (43) of Gaborone and Mr Laona Segaetsho (41) of Serowe. The three men drowned when the fibre glass canoe they were using capsised in Lake Ngami on November 2.
