ATI faces possible lengthy sentence

The ongoing case in which Atlasaone ‘ATI’ Molemogi and his accomplices are accused of kidnapping may face a lengthier combined sentence after the state amended one of the charges. Appearing before Magistrate Keolebogile Matlhodi in Extension II yesterday, prosecutor, Khumoitsile Tirelo, told the court that the case has been re-registered after the state completed its investigations.

 

“We had earlier indicated that we shall be amending the charge sheet.  We have amended it.  We have amended the second count in the original charge sheet,” she said. “Because of our new evidence in the matter, on the second count instead of assault common, the accused person will be charged with assault occasioning bodily harm,” Tirelo said.
