In an effort to create a long lasting impact in the hearts of travellers as they pass through the country’s borders, Brand Botswana in collaboration with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, on Tuesday launched the newly designed Brand Botswana-branded immigration stamp.

According to Brand Botswana, the stamp, which includes the pride mark, will be used at all Botswana ports of entry and this is expected to bring the values and principles embodied in the pride mark alive to immigration personnel.

The main ports of entry – Sir Seretse Khama, Francistown, Maun and Kasane Airports as well as the Tlokweng Border post – will be branded with vibrant imagery that depicts different aspects of life in Botswana. When launching the stamp, Minister of Trade and Industry Dorcas Makgato-Malesu explained that the initiative began with discussions between the Ministry of Trade and Industry through Brand Botswana and the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs, Department of Immigration and Citizenship in an effort to promote the pride mark. She said the discussions culminated in Brand Botswana sponsoring the initiative to procure an initial bunch of 258 stamps bearing the Pride Mark.
