Matlhaku clarifies new Gunners� role

Former Extension Gunners coach, Odirile ‘China’ Matlhaku has shed light on his new role at the club saying his foremost mandate is to set up a junior development structure.

Matlhaku, who quit Gunners exactly a year ago, was this week appointed as assistant coach and head of development. He said while he will assist the head team coach, his primary designation is head of development.

The club’s management have been courting him to assist Serbian, Dragojlo Stanojlovic to stabilise the team after an indifferent start to the season. Thabo Motang quit as assistant coach at Gunners this year.
