Traffic at Motswaledi's funeral in Serowe

Nearly all lodges and hotels in Serowe and Palapye were fully booked by yesterday, as hundreds of mourners prepared to gather ahead of Gomolemo Motswaledi’s funeral today (Friday). Many of the hospitality facilities started filling up last week after the announcement of his death.

A random check by Mmegi confirmed that the popular Serowe Hotel had been fully booked for Thursday, since it was announced that the Botswana Movement for Democracy leader had passed away in a car accident.

It is understood that mourners initially booked for Friday only to change the bookings to Thursday after the announcement that Motswaledi’s funeral would be on Friday.
