BFA to headhunt CEO

The BFA advertised the post early this year but a consultancy firm helping in the recruitment process has ruled that the applicants did not fit the bill. The position fell vacant following the dismissal of Mooketsi 'Tosh' Kgotlele after a match-fixing scandal rocked local football. The scam came after the Zebras' disastrous trip to China last year.

On Friday, the BFA met to discuss the recruitment of Kgotlele's successor, guided by the consultants report. BFA president, David Fani said in statement yesterday that after receiving an update from the consultants, the meeting agreed that the applicants failed to meet the grade. "After receiving the update, which was followed by extensive discussion, the NEC decided that none of the applicants under consideration adequately fitted the profile for the position of CEO," Fani said. He added that the BFA will pull all the stops to head hunt for a suitable candidate with a September 2010 deadline.
