Mmegi Online :: Chiefs, Notwane set for showdown over Moloi, Mani

This follows revelations that Moloi has a running contract with Notwane, while Manis transfer has also not been finalised although Chiefs used him (Mani) in their friendly game over the weekend.

Moloi was recently reported to have agreed a one-year deal with the be MOBILE Premier League pace-setters, Chiefs, but Notwane have since maintained that he remains their player.

Notwane chairman, Molebatsi Molebatsi revealed to Mmegi Sport yesterday that Molois contract runs up to the end of June this year. He said that contrary to reports that they have put a high price tag for his transfer, they have not received any offers for the attacking midfielder who missed this years on going Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.

We have also heard reports that he has joined Chiefs, but I can assure you that he is still our player.

His contract runs until the end of June and we have not received any offer for him from Chiefs, he said. He added that instead he has personally received what he called a strange memo or letter through an email where the skilful midfielder asked for his release to Chiefs.

The letter is addressed to Notwane Football Club, but the body of the letter seems like it is directed to me personally. I therefore responded through the same email address, which is that of a Chiefs official, asking them to clarify the letter after speaking to my executive committee, he said.  He said that they have no intention of destroying the midfielders football career ,but would like to see procedures being followed.

Let me make it clear that when we entered into an agreement with Dirang, he had indicated that he was eyeing a move anytime and we did assure him

that we would not stand in his way.

Believe me, there are no strict conditions on that agreement. What we want is just a simple procedure being followed,Ó he added. He believes Chiefs know very well about the contract Moloi has with Notwane.

In his letter, Moloi clearly shows his interest to join Chiefs. This letter suffices to inform you that I really want to start playing competitive football with a view to improve my game and seize available opportunities abroad.

You are aware my brother that I had a good piece of mind after a short stint with Vasco Da Gama FC in South Africa and as such the year 2012 brings about a new leaf of football life for me.

Having assessed the local football situation, I am inclined to re-join Mochudi Centre Chiefs Sporting Club and terminate the existing relationship we have, the letter stated. He also stated that, My heart, soul and commercial thinking remains with MMC (Chiefs) and I am appealing for your just, positive and brotherly acceptance.

Regarding Mani, Molebatsi said they would take Chiefs to task for fielding Mani in one of the friendly games over the weekend.

Mani told us that he wanted to move to Chiefs and we had no problem with that.

However, we indicated to Chiefs that there were issues that we needed to discuss with them among them development fees. We were surprised to see him play against us in a friendly game over the weekend, he told Mmegi Sport.

Chiefs spokesperson, Clifford Mogomotsi said they would not comment on the two matters at the moment since they were still evaluating them.

We will give a full official statement as soon as we finish evaluating these two issues, he said.
