Mabile who has been racing since 2010 has largely received support from his family. This time, the BNSC has drawn a training programme for him, hence he is confident that he is better prepared. “This time, it is going to be different because I have been training hard,” he said. Mabile together with his South Africa navigator, Zelda Neimandt finished 12th in the Class A race in 2012. Last year, they failed to finish the race due to a breakdown.
Mabile’s mother Felicitus said although it was expensive to sponsor her son, the passion he has keeps motivating the family. She said had BNSC not come on board, they would have struggled to sponsor Mabile for this year’s edition.
