FRANCISTOWN: A plea of a Zimbabwe man who blamed witchcraft for his crime fell on deaf ears as Chief Magistrate Gaedupe Makgatho sentenced him to 10 years in prison with an additional year for theft.The sentences shall run concurrently.

During sentencing Makgatho took note of the fact that while in the process of the two robberies he committed in Makomoto village in March this year, Ezra Mhlanga threatened to chop the complainant with an axe.

But he (Makgatho) said he took into account that Mhlanga was a first offender.
