Batlokwa Advised To Stop Selling Plots

Addressing residents of Sefoke ward on Saturday, Kgosi Gaborone said residents continue to sell their land to foreigners especially masimo, which compounds challenges of poverty. He said the residents often complain about the influx of foreigners in their tribal land forgetting that they are the very same people that continue to advertise and sell the land and property to them. “No foreigner will come here and own a piece of land that does not belong to them, we residents of this village should be safe guarding our land but we are the ones giving it away then we later complain,” lambasted the kgosi.

Gaborone told residents that they should guard their land as a source of wealth pointing out that nowadays the residents should also take into consideration that as chiefs they do not have substantial rights especially in land issues, as it is the work of the land board.
