Mother/ daughter attempted murder case postponed

A case in which a mother is alleged to have hired a hit man to eliminate her daughter was postponed yesterday due to the ill-health of the presiding magistrate Taboka Slave.

The case was supposed to proceed yesterday at the Broadhurst Magistrate Court. Previously the court heard how Motlalepula Monareng had hired hit men to kill her 32 year-old daughter, Dolly Monareng.

The court learnt that she had offered the hit men P100,000 for the job and was about to pay a P40,000 deposit when the police pounced on her and foiled the plot. One of the alleged assassins, Benny Modisane, was to kill Dolly and her boyfriend. The mother met Modisane and another hit man who was to procure a gun and but when she was about to produce the deposit the police pounced.
