Moahi is dean of faculty of humanities

Dr Moahi who has been Head of the Department of Library and Information Studies, succeeds Dr Nobantu Rasebotsa who has been Humanities Dean since 2002.
Dr Moahi graduated from the University of Botswana in 1982 with a BA in Public Administration and Political Science. She then worked at the Botswana Meat Commission (BMC), Lobatse for three years in the Data Processing Department.
She joined the defunct National Institute of Development Research and Documentation (NIR) in 1985 as Staff Development Fellow in its Documentation Unit during which she acquired her Masters of Science degree in Information Studies from Sheffield University in the United Kingdom.
In 1992 she joined the Department of Library and Information Studies as a lecturer, teaching in the area of information technology, an area that the Department was keen to develop.
In 2000 she emerged with a PhD in Library and Information Studies from Pittsburgh University in the United States of America. She became Head of the Department of Library and Information Studies in 2002, serving two terms as head when she was appointed Dean from July 1 2008.
She has served in many university-wide committees, which included the Computer Steering Committee, General Management Committee, Library Committee, Senate and UB Council. She has served as Chair of the Ad Hoc Task Force on Student Academic Dishonesty at UB.
