Khama to open Yarona Country Lodge

A press statement says the official opening marks a significant growth and maturity of the lodge from its humble beginnings in 2000.

It started with three rooms, but the wholly citizen-owned establishment now boasts 17 rooms - all en-suite - and conference facilities.

'It is today one of the most sought-after accommodation and conference destinations in Gaborone. Yarona Country Lodge has over the years built a solid clientele base, mainly corporate entities and elderly people who prefer private and secluded entertainment and conferencing venues,' the statement says.

As part of ploughing back into the community, the Yarona Country Club has a social responsibility programme under which sponsors and participates in community sporting activities and clean-up campaigns. Activities on the official opening day will include entertainment by veteran traditional dance and choral music groups, Ditholwana and the KTM Choir.
