Tight Competition At Presidents Day Celebrations Fashion Show

The event was held last Friday night at Boipuso Hall. The fashion show had models, hairdressers, dressmakers and fashion designers from different provinces around the country competing against one another with their crafts in their respective categories. 

The night started off with the newly introduced hairdressing category that saw models displaying various creative hairstyles that are rarely seen in local hair salons. They did not only play around with hair and hair product related material but plants, clothing material and electronics to enhance the hair style designs which came in different shapes. 

Next up was the modelling category that had both male and female models on the ramp donned in all black tight outfits showcasing their strides and skills. They presented flair of different levels on the ramp. 

The night got more exciting with the dressmaking category coming up. All the dressmakers had creativity element on their costumes. They tried by all means to make the costumes look basic despite the creative designs that ranged from casual, formal, vintage and traditional. 

Dressmakers used different materials that ranged from flora and fauna leteise (German), jeans, silk, lace and cotton material. The peak of the competition was the fashion design category that brought much creative outfits with an out of this world flair.

Designers went an extra mile this year as they were aggressive with the designs using different forms of materials that ranged from clothing, plastic, prints, wood and leather. The designs had that pop and vintage culture mix. 

Overall fashion designers and dressmakers displayed a creative mind on their costumes, but they all carried one element in mind of crafting only summer related costumes without any other seasons in mind. 

Tebogo Batshabele walked away as the fashion design category winner after his outfits made out of plastic straws and lace amazed the audience and judges. 

Mmoloki Letsebe was the best dressmaker of the night with his green and gold military suave outfits. Botshelo Dankie was the hairdressing category winner. Gaonaope and Magdaline won the male and female modelling category respectively.

The adjudicators were Kaone Kario, Thula Sindi, Ineeleng Kavindama, Lesedi Matlapeng, Kefilwe Sweetie Lobelo, Malebogo Raditladi and Serge Kabisoso.
