How The Zebras Fared

Kabelo Dambe - 9/10

The hero of the day as he saved two penalties. He put up a very good performance, but was unchallenged for most of the day.

Thato Kebue - 7/10

The 18-year-old did right-back.  He put on a solid performance and was relatively comfortable on the ball. Playing alongside Tapiwa Gadibolae on the right, he did not push forward when required.

Bogosi Kaekwe - 7/10

‘Wongree’ was a bit shaky at the start of the match, but it was understandable since he was making his first senior team appearance. He calmed down as the match went on.  His physical presence was instrumental as he matched his Angolan counterparts.

Mosha Gaolaolwe - 8/10

His partnership with Kaekwe proved to be one for the future.  He was very confident on the ball, pushed forward as the team looked for a winner in the second half.

His aerial ability was important and he covered up for Ramoraka when pushed forward.

Lesenya Ramoraka - 7/10

The pacey full-back overlapped when required and put in threatening crosses.

His tackling  was excellent. He put up a brave display against Angola’s technically gifted wingers.

Lesego Galenamotlhale - 6/10

The midfielder fitted well in the anchor role. He protected the backline well. His passing on the day was second to none.  He bossed the midfield, controlled the team’s playing tempo.

However, was not very instrumental when going forward, especially when the team was pushing for an equaliser deep in the second half.

Tapiwa Gadibolae - 5/10

He did not take on his opponents as required. He, however, assisted with the team’s goal. His off-ball movements were very poor.

Joel Mogorosi - 4/10

The striker was left wanting. His passes were very poor.  He delayed the team’s play. His attempted back pass cost the team a regulation time win. He was substituted at halftime.

Lemponye Tshireletso - 4/10

The left footed winger did not look threatening before he was substituted at halftime. He tried to find space on the wing, but his physical presence could not match his opponents. He looked a shadow of himself.

Kabelo Seakanyeng - 6/10

Settled in the central attacking midfield role. His movement off the ball was very instrumental, but his passing let him down as he failed to calculate his teammates movements. He used his pace well when the team needed him to.  He tried a shot from outside the box, but failed to hit the target. A fairly average performance by him.

Thabang Sesinyi - 8/10

The attacker caused trouble to the opposition with his deft touches and skills. He showed a lot of creativity, but was let down by his striking partner Mogorosi.  He clinically connected Gadibolae’s cross to open the scoring.

Thabiso Mabachi - 6/10

He came on for Tshireletso after the break to make his debut Zebras appearance.  He played more of a central role rather than his usual wing role. ‘Mahachi’ found spaces in the defence, but was let down by his finishing.  He scored, but was ruled offside.

Hendrick Moyo - 5/10

Replaced Mogorosi after the break.  He was once again at fault for squandering a lot of goal-scoring chances.  His finishing was very poor.  His pace, however, caused havoc for the opposition defence.
