Moupo sick

Security at Parliament was informed yesterday that Moupo is on two days' sick leave raising doubts about whether he will be able to respond to the 2008/2009 budget speech. Moupo's leave ends today suggesting that he ought to be present in Parliament tomorrow.

This comes at a time when the majority of members of parliament have already commented on the speech.

BNF publicity secretary, Moeti Mohwasa confirmed yesterday that Moupo is on sick leave but could not divulge for how long.

On what would happen if Moupo fails to comment on the speech, Mohwasa preferred to wait and see.

'We can't say anything about that right now since that would just be speculation. Let's wait to see if he will not comment on the speech,' he said.

The opposition leader had a bad weekend after losing in the primary elections and had in the past failed to respond to the 2006 State of the Nation Address.
