The player although having agreed personal terms with Rollers, is yet to have the two teams agree on a fee. “I can confirm that a deal has been agreed with Rollers to sign the player. Only formalities are left,” BDF XI spokesperson, Thusang Jacob told Mmegi Sport.
Gaolaolwe will sign a two-year deal after an impressive performance at the just-ended COSAFA Castle Cup where the Zebras finished as runners up. Rollers have signed winger, Lemponye Tshireletso whose contract with Mochudi Centre Chiefs has come to an end. Efforts to get a comment from Rollers proved futile with the club spokesperson, Bafana Pheto referring enquiries to club secretary, Khumo Masonya whose phone rang unanswered at the time of going to press.
Rollers were again the busiest in the transfer market at the start of last season with the arrival of Joel Mogorosi, Kabelo Dambe, Galagbwe Moyana, Modiredi Matengu and Mogogi Gabonamong. They are currently in training camp in Rustenburg and are expected back next week.
In other transfers, Extension Gunners seem to have lost in their race to bring back midfielder, Ofentse Mmipi from BDF XI. Mmipi was recently released by BDF XI after two seasons at the club. Gunners were said to be eager to bring him back to Lobatse after losing some of their key players. However, the player has reportedly agreed terms with Gilport Lions who seem to be busy on the transfer market. Another player who has reportedly joined Lions is Topo Piet whose contract with Gunners comes to an end this month. Piet is among players who told Gunners they cannot continue with the club. Gunners have already lost the likes of Kekaetswe Moloi, Mosimanegape Ntwaetsile and Moemedi Moatlhaping. The club has admitted failing to meet their salary obligations.
Moloi only joined them in January from Chiefs and looks set to join Rollers after training with them since last week.
Chiefs, who are also known for their robust action in the transfer market, have been quiet up to now. They have been in talks with creative midfielder, Ntesang Simanyana who was released from Gaborone United. The arrival of Simanyana is expected to come in handy after Chiefs’ playmaker last season, Tendai Nyumasi joined Orapa United. Chiefs are also likely to be without Ayanda Molefe next season although he has a running contract. Molefe has reportedly found a job in Jwaneng, which will make it difficult for him to attend training sessions with Magosi. Nico United have appointed Zambian coach, Dean Mwiinde following the departure of the late Wesley Mondo last season. The club, currently struggling financially have already lost two key players, Kaizer Seforo and Richard Legwaila to BDF XI. They are also set to lose striker, Christopher Musonda who has attracted interest from the likes of BDF XI. Matebele have already lost two strikers, Patrick Kaunda and Sadiki Takunda.
Premier League rookies, Rolling Boys are reportedly also trying to bolster their squad ahead of the new season with players like Mgcini Sibanda on their wanted list. Sibanda was recently released by Orapa United in a shocking move, especially after his exploits last season. The former FC Satmos midfielder played a critical role and helped Orapa United win the Mascom Top 8. Rolling Boys are also said to be chasing the signature of Lovemore Murirwa who was also released by Orapa United.
