Saleshando Snr asks UDC to release Motswaledi report

Speaking during a political rally held at Leseding ward on Saturday, Saleshando said that Motswaledi’s report disadvantages opposition parties as most of the voters are curious about it.

He said that whenever opposition parties try to recruit members to their side they fail because people want answers to what could have caused Motswaledi’s death. He said that it is evident that people want to know about the report hence UDC should act quickly and release the report.

“Most of the voters want to know about the report and we fail to give them proper answers,” he said. He added that it is high time UDC releases the report so that Batswana do not lose trust in the opposition parties.

Saleshando also said opposition parties have a big role ahead of them in 2019. He said that Batswana continue to lose hope in the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) and he called upon the opposition parties to have policies that will change the lives of Batswana.

He said that in order to gain people’s trust opposition parties should come up with relevant policies that will help them deliver to their voters. “You can never deliver your promises without relevant policies,” he advised.

He said BCP members who are still against opposition parties uniting should do so without causing conflicts in the parties. He said they should instead engage in proper talks because if they cause conflicts within their party they will render it unstable.  He said that it is also important for those people to know that the biggest enemy they are fighting is the BDP. He challenged BCP diehards to channel their energies towards unseating the BDP.

“BCP members who are against opposition unity should do so in an acceptable manner to avoid conflicts within the party,” he stressed.

He also said that Batswana should join hands with opposition parties in fighting their enemy, BDP. He urged Batswana to make proper decisions in 2019 and vote for opposition parties as the ruling party has done more harm than good to the country.  “BDP has shown no interest in developing your lives, you must join hands with opposition parties to unseat them,” he said to cheerful applause.

Francistown West constituency representative, Gift Keaitse, said that “traitors” who leave BCP for BDP should not shake BCP members.

“You should not be shaken by individuals who do not have people’s interest at heart and just concerned about their lives,” he said.
