New Appointments At Stanbic

At a function at the bank's head office at Fairgrounds, the bank's Managing Director Dennis Kennedy announced the appointment of Leina Gabaraane as the Deputy Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Botswana and Leonard Siwawa as the Managing Director of Stanbic Investment Management Services(SIMS), the asset management arm of Stanbic.
Leina Gabaraane joined SIMS as founding CEO in 2003.

He started his career with the Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) where he was a Principal Operations Officer tasked with business development, project evaluation and monitoring and various development projects throughout Botswana.

Gabaraane holds a B.Comm from the University of Botswana (UB) and an MBA (International Banking and Finance) from the University of Birmingham (UK).

Leonard Siwawa has been appointed SIMS Managing Director to replace Gabaraane. Siwawa previously worked for the Botswana Insurance Fund Management (Bifm), leaving the multi-portfolio asset management company earlier this year as Trade and Research Manager to join SIMS as Deputy Managing Director.

The appointments are effective from September 1, 2007.
