Tex kicks out Chilly

Segona claims that Ramogobya threatened to kill him in the early hours of Tuesday morning after a heated argument at the house they had been sharing at Phakalane Estates.

Ramogobya has denied such a charge, saying he only threw Segona out of his house because they could no longer live under the same roof.

Broadhurst police received a call of threat to kill from Segona in the early hours of Tuesday morning, but apparently realised that it was only a case of assault.

Broadhurst Station Commander Counsel Moyo, told Showbiz that they have no case of threat to kill but confirmed they received a report from someone in Phakalane who said the person he had been sharing a house with was issuing threats on Tuesday morning.
'I do not have a docket yet, but I heard from my officers that they did attend to such a case in Phakalane. I do not have a file here maybe the investigators are still to deliver it to me,' Moyo said.

'I heard that the two people were music producers, but I do not have names and as such I cannot say we have any case that we are investigating until I have all the facts with me,' Moyo said.

But Ramogobya said that it was untrue that he had threatened to kill his business associate saying, 'the police were called in, but they found there was no such threat to kill.

'We had a misunderstanding and I told Chilly to leave my house. I think because it was at night he felt the police would help him. I was fed up and wanted him out of the house then,' Ramogobya said.

Segona owns Afro Heavens, which has been working with Kalakuta Records in promoting musicians such as Matsosangwao, Deben Natale as well as Baloi.

'He pointed a pellet gun at me and the police have confiscated it because they confirmed that it could kill if the victim is shot at close range. On Tuesday morning around four in the morning, Tex knocked on my door and demanded a certain CD.

While I was still trying to figure out what he was saying he started kicking the door and broke into my bedroom and together with Deben they started assaulting me and he (Tex) brought a gun and threatened to kill me,' Segona alleged.

The conflict is said to have been there for the past two months emanating from the fact that both men did not agree on how the companies should be run. Segona is reported to have insisted on things being run 'professionally'.

Segona said, 'things went sour after I started insisting that we need to have records in the company to manage cash flow.

I also insisted that our artists should have contracts and he preferred the current system where artists have only a verbal agreement.

I was concerned because Kalakuta already lost Kangangwana 'Vomit' Mogocha because he did not have a contract.'

Ramogobya refused to comment further saying he was still sorting out the issue with the police and can only give more details at the end of the week.
