Socca gives Millenium revellers night to remember

Another reason could be that he does not want to bore people with the same stuff by performing every weekend. Moruakgomo is one local musician who takes his profession seriously.   To him, music has become business and he is always striving to satisfy his audience.

In one of his rare appearances, Moruakgomo staged a show at the Millennium Jazz Restaurant on Sunday.  It looks like everyone who had been looking forward to what turned out to be a memorable show.

This was Moruakgomo first show since the beginning of this year.  Everytime Moruakgomo stages a performance he gives it his all and the Sunday show was no exception. On Sunday he was blowing a storm, proving that he is still one of the local music heavyweights.    This was vintage Moruakgomo in his element.   Moruakgomo took music lovers down memory lane before playing new songs that he has composed for his forthcoming album.

Although the venue was not fully packed, the revellers who attended the show had a good time. Moruakgomo played three sets and every time he came back on stage he was reinvigorated.

The Afro jazz guru sings about  challenges  that are facing the African  continent.   Maybe his song, 'What's happening,' should be directed at neighbouring Zimbabwe where the results of the presidential elections have not been announced after one week.
There is also his other lively song, 'Wena'.  Every time he renders the track,  people tend to stick close to their partners.  On Sunday, Moruakgomo had to play the song twice due to popular demand.

As Moruakgomo started to introduce his musicians, one would regret  why he wanted to end the show.

Afro jazz singer, Nono Siile, who is an accomplished artiste in her own right, backed Moruakgomo.  Nono released her solo album last year.

Moruakgomo said he was also impressed with the response of his audience during the Sunday show.

He revealed that he is going to the studio towards the end of this month to record his fourth album, which is entitled 'Your Smile'.  He describes his next release as a happy album.

But before he records,  he intends to stage shows in Serowe, Moiyabana and Palapye.  His next show at the Millennium  Jazz Restaurant  is on April 27.  Moruakgomo said he is going to stage another show at the Millennium due to public demand.
