The Palapye side will have to overturn a 3-1 deficit they conceded before a capacity crowd on Friday at Serowe Sports Complex in order to advance to the semi-finals. Kick off which was billed 7:00 pm was delayed for an hour, as a large crowd had turned up for the match.
Rollers dominated the proceedings from the word go, but were very wasteful against Chouka Chouka.
Man of the match, Kobamelo Swere Keibakanye, Jerome Louis and speedy winger, Motsholetsi Sikele were the main culprits, fluffing opportunities in the first half. Until a blunder cost his team in the first half, Motlakase goalkeeper, Kagiso Rankabekwa, was outstanding.
Rollers were dealt a major blow when Leutwetse Tshireletso had to come off after 23 minutes due injury. Rollers goal in the 33rd minute from a well curled corner caused controversy when Rankabekwa protested saying that Louis parried the ball into the net with a hand. Motlakase tried to search for the equaliser but the first stanza ended with Popa 1-0 ahead.
In the second half, Rollers continued attacking their opponents which left them exposed at the back. They were subsequently caught from the break by substitute Lapologang Motlogi in the 71st minute. Motlogi connected with a quick high ball from the middle to beat an advancing Rollers goalkeeper, Michael Pepukani who was rarely tested on the day.
However, Motlakase’s celebrations were short-lived. In the 75th minute, Kebaikanye’s blistering shot after he had navigated his way through defenders easily beat a hapless Rankabekwa, to give Rollers the lead.
Four minutes later, substitute Manqoba Ngwenya turned provider to Kebaikanye with a neat pass. Kebaikanye unleashed a powerful shot that to complete his brace. After the third goal, Motlakase struggled to combine while Rollers enjoyed possession until the end of the match.
