Batswana have no time for clowns

The man is over the moon despite the votes for his party, or is it his new party, the Botswana National Front (BNF) tumbling down to a paltry and mere 58 votes. This is the same man who a few months back made a pronouncement that the BCP is not a viable project and will not amount to anything in an election.

Kgosipula is nostalgic about the way he used to amuse people by hackling the head of state and influencing people to go against the law. Upon realizing that the likes of Phagenyane Phage and his comrades in the BCP are no longer clowns who are in politics just to amuse people, he jumped ship and enlisted in the amusement party they call the BNF, with a Mickey Mouse central committee like his comrade Tafa would say. It is for this reason that I say, whilst the biggest opposition party in the country is busy amusing people without offering any alternatives to the BDP policies, then indeed the BDP will rule until the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Don't get excited Kgosipula, Christ is not here yet. I thought Kgosipula would be a worried man when his new party, which used to boast of being the biggest opposition party, remember big brother, is now in the league of independent candidates.

If Kgosipula cannot comprehend the fact that his party performed dismally in the previous three by-elections, that are Mabutsane, Sefhophe and Mmopane for his recollection and together with his comrades are just amused, surely the BNF is in trouble. In Mabutsane, it was the little known political demagogue (as Kgosipula refers to me) who was sent against BNF heavy weights as campaign manager to go and destroy the BNF 300 votes majority and takes the ward from them like taking a candy from a kid. [It is unfortunate that BNF is full of popular politicians like  Kgosipula, popular for wrong reasons for that matter, which does not add value to our political landscape. Instead of hopping from one constituency to another, one party to another so that I could become popular, I would rather remain little known because it is the policies of my party that are more important, not me as an individual.

I guess Mogapinyana and 2009 will give Kgosipula another opportunity to showcase his skills as a praise poet. Surely the BCP will emerge from the elections with better results than the BNF and this will amuse the former BCP nutty political mentor. Batswana do not have time for clowns like the BNF whose main purpose is to amuse them. We in the BDP have accepted defeat in Mmopane, and as a formidable party that we are; it is back to the drawing board. We live to fight it out with BCP in Mmopane and snatch the ward back instead of singing praises to our opponent. Honestly, I am amused.
