The Zimbabwean sealed a successful campaign with the Kgatleng giants by winning be MOBILE Premier League title for the second successive time a fortnight ago with three games to go. Despite leading Chiefs to back to back be MOBILE League titles, the club is yet to initiate talks over a new deal.Instead, ongoing speculation has been that the club is courting BMC coach Daniel Chicco Nare. Chiefs' communications manager, Clifford Mogomotsi admits their coach is still very much in the dark regarding his future at the club with his contract expiring next month.
'We have not yet started negotiations for a new deal (with Madinda Ndlovu), but it is common cause that when a contract ends, people sit down and negotiate,' Mogomotsi told Mmegi Sport.Mogomotsi would not commit to saying the club was definitely keeping the coach only saying they would review everything after the last game.He added some of their players were out of contract and were waiting for the league to finish before they start the negotiations.'We are aware even for the players, when we done with the league we will discuss,' he said.Sources within the club confirmed Nare had been approached for the job.'He initially refused, but because of the uncertainty at BMC it looks like he may end up agreeing for it,' said the source.
Nare has previously coached Chiefs and may be tempted by the lure of winning a league title after finishing second behind Chiefs last season.Ironically, on his way to becoming the first coach to lead Chiefs to back to back titles, Ndlovu beat Nare's BMC 1-0.The former Township Rollers and Nico United coach led Chiefs to a sensational comeback in the title race after surrendering top spot to the Selebi-Phikwe side last month.Chiefs went through a slump in form, only to pick up at the beginning of this month with a 3-0 victory against Notwane.
