G West gets new daycare centre

The theme of the day was Poverty Eradication Through Active Citizenship. This daycare centre is set to admit children as a form of securing the future of the socially disadvantaged children of Morula ward. The president of JCI Botswana, Kabo Garechaba told The Monitor that  as part of the conference the organisation has been holding since May 8th, it is the norm to have a community outreach in the host's country.

'Since this year Botswana was hosting, we decided to partner with Gaborone City Council and Zac Construction to build a community daycare for the children living in this area as there are not many daycares here so children here suffer,' he said.

He further explained that one of the pillars of 2016 is to be an educated nation and for them building this school will help in realising this pillar. 'The other pillar we are trying to achieve is that of a compassionate, just and caring nation and we have proved this by building this school as we are aiming at developing the education of these children at a lower age,' he said. The daycare is expected to take eight months to finish and will be called Morula Zac Daycare Centre.
