Imagine Africa's Masi ready to combat HIV/AIDS

'I want to encourage Batswana, especially young people to take the lead in the fight against HIV/AIDS,' said Masi who is one of the founding members of the South East District Youth Empowerment Association in Ramotswa.  He said that he developed 'personally and professionally' during his travels while still with Imagine Africa and that he is willing to share that wealth of knowledge with other young people in the country to help them combat HIV/AIDS.

The artist revealed to Showbiz that his organisation is busy developing a television series moulded after the concept of Imagine Africa.  'We are currently working on the idea and the conceptual name is 'Making Your Move', which might change by the time we flight the series.  The main focus of the show will be combating HIV/AIDS more especially among the young people in the country,' said the 29-year-old from Ramotswa.Masi further pointed out that he is the right person to spearhead the project as he garnered a lot of support during his stint on Imagine Africa.  When he first joined the show in 2008, he was just a participant but he returned the following year as a reporter on the same show.

Imagine Africa, which Masi joined in 2008 took him to counties such as France, the US, Canada, Tunisia, Kenya and Ethiopia.'I love travelling a lot and because of my travels, I have learnt to embrace different religions and cultures.  I particularly enjoyed travelling in Africa because I believe that the continent has got a lot to offer,' he said adding that he once spent time with Muslims in Africa and he got the chance to understand their faith better. He further said that he is going to use his experiences throughout his travels to develop the envisaged show.

The youth leader said he intents to self-publish his memoirs in June this year and that the memoirs will contain stories of his travels and experiences all over the world.Masi further said that South East Youth Empowerment Association has been able to extend their offices with the help of the international football organisation FIFA who donated P 1 million towards the project.
