Air Botswana launches Pula Lounge

Although it has been open for the past two weeks, the Pula Lounge was unveiled to the media on Thursday.

Speaking at the media briefing, Air Botswana commercial manager Robert Mpabanga said the lounge is named after the country's currency. He said it will be available  to  Air Botswana's  Teemane Club members.

Teemane Club is an exclusive Air Botswana programme that offers a range of privileges and personalised services to frequent fliers.

He said members of the club have to earn a certain number of points to gain access to the lounge. The levels start with the Blue Card and progress to the Silver, Gold and Diamond Cards.  Mpabanga said, 'We will start offering the lounge services to our clients who are on the Gold Card and have earned 500 points, which is an equivalent of around 30,000 miles of flying with Air Botswana'.

He said the Pula Lounge would give Air Botswana an opportunity to reward their customers. He said because of delays in completing the terminal, the Pula Lounge should have come at an earlier time.

'Now our passengers will be able to conduct their business here before they fly out,' he said.  The lounge is exclusive to Air Botswana passengers as it aims to encourage people to use the country's airliner. Pula Lounge offers services such as free wi-fi, refreshments and a television set. SSKIA houses airlines that include Air Namibia, South African Airways and Kenya Airways.
