Singing for the viewers' votes to make it through to the next round and hopefully to the Top 20, most contestants battled to come out in song vocally, which the judges characterised as a bad night overall.

Sid was the least impressed with the crowd failing to agree with the rest of the judges on some contestants who gave the audience a bit of hope.  Sid thought most of the singers were killed by the wrong choice of songs as they failed to showcase their powerful voices.The judges thought some contestants chose songs that were either too big for them to handle or those that did not suit their voices and style of singing.  'I am not impressed with the choice of songs for most of you tonight and most of you cannot even connect with the audience, it really sums up a bad night,' said Sid.

Despite the judges slamming the contestants on the night, there were some positives as few contestants received a nod from both the judges and the unforgiving crowd.Wagarre was one of the few contestants who impressed on the night and his performance was deemed the best by the judges though he was advised to put more effort into his songs.  Tebogo, who the judges arguably agreed that he could sing, was told to bring a different Tebogo to the show.

'We all know you can sing but I do not want to see the same Tebogo week-in-week-out, bring another dimension to your songs, do something dramatic for the audience,' Kgomotso said.Sid, for his part, said that the way Tebogo sings is what makes him so different and unique, and that he still enjoys his voice.

'It all depends on what you do and the choice of song that can win you more votes and you can even win this competition.  I would suggest you work very hard,' he said.Meanwhile, at the start of the show eight contestants had to battle it out for the judges' votes as five made an early exit.  The judges saved Kagiso and Thapelo with Letlhogonolo being saved earlier as she had more votes than the rest. Prudence was automatically eliminated, as she made no appearance at the beginning of the show.
