Woman breaks down during divorce case proceedings

The woman and her husband Opelo Letsebe appeared in court on Friday for their divorce hearing. Itumeleng was seeking decree nisi and maintenance of their minor child. She told the court that they were married in July 2007 although they have a child who was born in 1992. She further told court that they lived together in Kasane until 2010 when she asked to be transferred to Bobonong. She said at the time her marriage was already crumbling down. 'We have not lived together in the past two years,' she said.

Itumeleng explained that during their marriage the two of them both worked but her husband failed to assist her with domestic expenses. This she said, had put a strain on their relations and the marriage had broken down irretrievably. The husband did not contest the divorce nor present questions and briefly stated that he agreed with his wife.
