FRAFA meeting postponed to June 16

The annual assembly will now be held on June 16 according to the FRAFA officials.The assembly was aborted after majority of clubs affiliated to the association did not turn up for the Sunday meeting at the Institute of Health Sciences (IHS).Only eight of the 28 clubs affiliated to the regional association were part of the aborted meeting.The clubs that are affiliated to FRAFA are from the premier league, division one and two.'According to the association's constitution to form a quorum in order to host the assembly we need at least 18 of the 28 teams affiliated to FRAFA to be present (assembly).

'We could not go on with the meeting because only a few teams turned up. We then decided to postpone the assembly to June 16 which we believe is a suitable date,' FRAFA Secretary Baboloki Bajiti told this publication yesterday through telephone.Bajiti said that FRAFA was yet to establish why most of the clubs did not turn up for the meeting. He however expressed hope that majority of clubs will attend the June 16 meeting.

'We will communicate with the clubs encouraging them to honour the next meeting,' Bajiti said.The FRAFA annual assembly is held annually to discuss football matters in the region. The subjects addressed include challenges faced by the association and clubs in the running of football in the region.Football officials also use the assembly to recommend ideas they believe could take the football game in the city to another level.FRAFA is tasked with coordinating football affairs in the city and other neighbouring areas. The association is run by the executive committee led elected by the affiliated clubs.
