At the launch, Pula board member, Dr Bakani Thipe said the company remains committed in service delivery, information dissemination and communication to its members and stakeholders. 'The launch of the website and introduction of new web-portal embodies an important part of our on-going quest to bridge the communication gap between us and our stakeholders,' he said. He explained that the website and web portal will give Pula Medical Aid Fund members the chance to access information about their medical aid benefits, account transactions and payments and provide general information about the medical aid scheme.
He said the web portal will make it easy for service providers to make claims.'The new facility ensures reduced processing time and errors as well as their related queries experienced by those who provide services on behalf of the fund. It will also facilitate swift feedback upon submission of claims and consequently significantly reduce payment turnaround time as compared to when claims are processed manually,' he said.Meanwhile the Pula claims manager, Scott Senwelo emphasised that it is vital for service providers engaged by the medical insurance to familiarise themselves with the new websites and web portal.
'I urge service providers to fully take this opportunity and enrol in our electronic submission programme to improve service delivery to Pula members,' he said.He encouraged the service providers to come up with innovative ways that could help the fund improve its communication to the public.Pula Medical Aid Fund was established in 1991 and is managed by Associated Fund Administrators Botswana (AFA). AFA is the largest medical aid administrator in Botswana.Total clients covered by schemes under AFA's administration represent over 70 percent of the medical aid market in Botswana. The fund is open to all institutions in the private sector, parastatals and NGOs.
