Selala concedes defeat

Team Selala was however unhappy with the election process saying it accepts the outcome in the interest of the BNF. Addressing a press briefing at Oasis Motel on Monday, Selala said party members have chosen their leadership.'Therefore in obedience to this year's youth league congress theme Marching Forward in Unity Towards Mass Mobilisation for Electoral Victory in 2014, Team Selala would like to use this platform to reach out to all BNF members countrywide and pledge our support to the newly elected youth league,' he said.He promised to rally behind them, should the need arise.

'We throw our weight behind the BNFYL for the benefit of our beloved front and to help our party realise its objectives of emancipating Batswana from the exploitation they face under the government of today. It is worth mentioning that we did our homework of reaching out as much to BNF youth as we could, with the limited resources that we had. In doing so, we distributed and presented our manifesto,' Selala said.

He emphasised that they never viewed their opponents as enemies but contenders whose intention was to promote and cultivate the spirit of inner-party democracy. He denied ever employing dirty campaign tactics such as character assassination of fellow party members.'Let me on this point thank Team Selala campaign team for portraying a high level of maturity in protection of the BNF name and integrity. The fact that remains is that, as the BNF youth, despite our then differences of lobby lists, we need each other to build the BNF together, concentrate on taking our party to the people, and ensure that we win the hearts of Batswana through our noble project of the UDC,' Selala said.  He emphasised that Team Selala was a temporary platform established for the youth league congress. He then said he has dissolved  Team Selala as it has served its purpose.
