Duo in court for possession of steenbok

According to the prosecution, Michael Molefe, 34, from Maun and Oratile Motswiri, 27, from Ramotswa who are both drivers for Sprint Couriers are accused of being in possession of a steenbok near Dukwi village last Friday. Inspector Oteng Selalame from Dukwi Police Station told the court that the two acted together to commit the crime with the knowledge that they did not have a certificate of ownership or any reasonable proof of lawful possession.

Both accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charge and told court that they would engage attorneys to represent them.Selalame then asked for the accused to be granted bail on condition that they pay P500 cash each, attend court whenever they were needed and report to the nearest police station every Friday between 7am and 4:30pm.

Bagopi granted the two accused persons bail on the said conditions, but they were remanded in custody until they fulfill their bail conditions. He then ordered the accused persons to attend court with their attorneys at the next mention, or bring the letters from their attorneys.The next mention will be on June 28.
