Women's Expo exhibitors up 50 percent

 

Speaking at a press briefing yesterday, deputy Permanent Secretary of MLHA, Kelebogile Kgabi said that this year, there has been a significant growth in the number of exhibitors. She said that last year, there were 200 exhibitors but the number has since gone up by 50 percent. She said that every year, there has been a visible increase in both the attendance and participation of the expo.Kgabi explained that when the expo started in 2000, they were only 70 exhibitors. She said that this goes to show that the expo is not stagnant as it brings about significant change to women entrepreneurs.

Kgabi said the expo is an important annual event that focuses exclusively on the economic empowerment of women in business. She added that it provides a chance for women entrepreneurs to network, forge links and create beneficial partnerships.Kgabi said that the expo offers an opportunity for the entrepreneurs to showcase what they offer, gives women exposure at national level and creates an enabling environment for the women to grow in business. The theme of the expo for the past three years  has been 'Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: Key to Sustainable Economic Development'. The Expo will be held from July 1-6 at Ditshupo Hall in Gaborone and BOCCIM Grounds in Francistown from 5-10 August.
