BMD activists in court after clash with police

The activists did not answer to criminal charges against them because investigations into the matter are not complete. The six accused are Lemogang Kealeboga, Keabetswe Seakgosing, Parius Ponego Malale, Tshepo Gaborone, Neo Bathoeng and Girly Modisa. They are charged with among other things vandalising state property (police van); and obstruction of justice after they are deemed to have prevented the police from doing their work.Appearing briefly before the Tlokweng Customary Court yesterday, the six were left perplexed when the prosecutor, Oageng Mosarwa asked for a postponement saying that investigations are not complete.

Mosarwa asked for more time saying that the investigating officer was still looking for the quotations for damaged properties. The activists were charged after violent clashes with the police at a gathering in Tlokweng, which was allegedly hosted by BMD. The case has been moved to June 20 when it is expected that the investigating officer would have brought all evidence.
