Masisi lauds school head for academic excellence

Masisi credited school head Sandra Magole for the feat.'Since the school relocated from the side of the Tati River to where it is now, the school has been performing exceptionally well thanks to the school management.  I am proud of you Sandra Magole,' said Masisi.

He said since MoESD started the excellence awards in 2010, the school has been the best in Francistown.Tatitown Primary School recorded the best PSLE results, pocketing the coveted P20,000 prize. Masisi related how when the school was constructed many parents griped about its location, particularly that it is far from students' homes.

Parents also complained about the thick bush between the homes (Blue Town locality) and the school.  'I was and am still concerned about that space.  We have talked about it in kgotla meetings and agreed as one to consider the welfare of our children.  This space must be filled with something so that children do not fear the bush on their way to school,' he said.

Masisi promised parents that the bush would be dealt with. 'Please visit the school and see the progress of your children, monitor their books, know their teachers and let's change the education system.  Change your mindset and improve the nation's education,' he said.  For her part, Magole lauded parents for taking part in their children's education and urged them to carry on with the good spirit.  She said parents have been cooperative, attending PTA meetings and visiting the school to see the progress of their children.

Magole paid homage to the area councillor Stanley Masalila, parents and the PTA committee whose support she said was steadfast at all times. 'These good results show your commitment to the partnership that exists between stakeholders and the school management.  I am proud of you,' she said.  At the ceremony students, teachers, non-teaching staff and management of various schools were awarded certificates as well as monetary prizes.
