BDF VI's dominance continues

Last weekend's result has many already thinking that the Selebatsho Mabutho coached side is on its way to successfully defending its title. Both sides started like a house on fire with towering Diphatsa gem in Pastor Rebabone showing some brilliance in blocking and spiking.  From the first whistle until halfway through the first set, it was anybody's set. But BDF VI showed a silky display towards the end of the first set to emerge the winners and beat Diphatsa 23-25. It was so close but Mabutho's tactical awareness of the game proved more advanced.

It is man open secret that Mabutho's team is built around the towering Francistown Dingwe. But on Saturday afternoon, Dingwe was not the main man. In the second set, BDF VI took an early lead. They managed to collect at least 10 points without any response from the home side. At 10-3, Diphatsa head coach Leabaneng George called for a mini-break.Thereafter, his charges really chased the game until they catch up with the reigning champions. But Mabutho and his charges were quickly to pick the opposition's strategy. Agisanang Kurwara and Thatayaone Seruma were on top of their game for the red and green striped side. They played their hearts out throughout the game.

Kurwara interchangeably launched spike after spike with Seruma while Dingwe and Lakidzani James blocked well in front. BDF VI won the second set by 25 points to 18. Diphatsa's performance went down as the game progressed.BDF VI easily won the last set 25-17. This marked Diphatsa's first loss of the season.
