Vusi Exits My Star Grand Finale Race

Much to the shock and disappointment of the audience on Friday an emotional Vusi left the show.It was always going to be a tough battle for the deep-voiced and gifted Vusi.He was up against Kagiso who has also been doing well in the competition but never ceases to amaze many when it comes to being at the bottom three every week.

The two talented contestants together with husky-pitched voice, Tebogo failed to gain more votes resulting in them facing elimination.  Husky-voiced Tebogo, who many have now warmed up to, was lucky enough to escape earlier when he was announced by the presenters to be leading in votes among the three hence being saved from elimination. When the trio were announced as the bottom three, the audience could not believe what had just happened, as they have been strong contenders in the contest.

Vocally they have what it takes to beat any rival. This only shows that at the moment it could be anyone's game only determined by those people who vote to keep their favourites in the competition and it does not matter whether one is good or not.The judges also had a tough time deciding which one to send home as both gave their best in a bid to escape elimination but decided to base their choice on the task songs.  Since the start of Top 10 contestants have been judged on how well they did on individual task songs, which test their ability as songwriter, composer and master for their own melody and the whole song interpretation.

It was only fair that the judges came to this decision as many for the past weeks have failed to do well on their task songs which gave their rivals leverage for doing well and this time it looked good for Kagiso, as he has been doing well in task songs.  It takes someone with a rare talent to be able to swim when thrown into the deep end and despite Vusi being good like the rest of the contestants, task songs nonetheless gave them nightmares in turn often wiping their brilliance in other performances.

Meanwhile, before his departure, Vusi together with Ontefetse and Tebogo brought the audience and the judges, especially Kgomotso, who seemed deeply touched by the boys' rendition of the gospel song, Awesome God/ His Name Is.
