My Star: Kagiso Survives By A Whisker - Again

It becomes a question of do we vote for talent or we simply vote for the one we love, because if it was talent, Kagiso would be the one heading towards the grand finale rather than always being at the bottom and having to battle for a spot. For many reasons I find Kagiso a well-rounded performer and a likely ally to other contestants in the competition which should give him a chance to win the competition. But this might not happen by the look of things because he seems to be getting less votes each week, forcing him to miss the exist door just by a whisker. He has for the past weeks given sterling performances and according to the judges is one contestant who is good in song writing and mastering, which should be a bonus towards putting him ahead of his counterparts, but it is often by a whisker that he manages to get one more shot in the competition, a thing that sometimes pushes him to perform better than the rest of the team. Yet another week he still finds himself at the bottom.

For many who watch the show on television or visit it at its weekly premier location, if at all they know what talent is, they would agree that it is amazing how Kagiso often finds himself having to battle for a place in the competition when he should be the one leading the pack.Without the judges' input Kagiso would have long gone by now despite having the talent to go all the way or even to win the competition and on Friday it was no different, as he impressed the judges with his task song after they saved him from elimination.

Kagiso, Ontefetse and Khumo received the least votes subsequently leading to Khumo's departure after going head to head with Kagiso to a vote from the judges.Meanwhile, as the shows continue, the three weeks that contestants have been struggling with their task song would surely have been wiped away by this week's brilliant display.Whatever the judges might have said to the competitors  the previous week surely has worked, as many of them on Friday came to the party prepared, leaving the judges impressed. Since the beginning of the Top Ten, contestants have been leaving judges with less to say as they failed to deliver in mastering their own songs, which exposed many to elimination.

Only seven remain so far and  with only two weeks left to reveal the top five, it will be difficult for the judges to send any  home as the contestants are showing so much determination and individual strength whether they perform individually, as duets or in triple.
