Queens swoop up Ngwako ahead of netball season

Ngwako is one of the experienced four players added to the Queens' squad ahead of the 2013/14 netball season that kicks off next weekend.The Prisons trio of Goitsemodimo Jikinya,

Natasha Maribe and Goisegotlhale Onotsile will also turn out for the ambitious side this season.Queens' manager, Mmoloki Mogale said they were confident their squad would take them beyond the top four this time around.

Queens made it, for the first time in the history of the club, into the top eight last season before advancing to the top four in the national championships. 'We actually started our pre-season training early in January and identified a few players who we thought could add value to us.

We're quite happy with the new players and confident we will put up a stronger challenge for the league and then, at least, make the final.' Queens have also bolstered the technical team, bringing in former player,Goitsemodimo Tsie to assist Delroy Nkomazana.

'She has been in and out because of work commitments, but we have brought her in to assist this season. She has played for the club and knows a lot about the game.' Mogale said the new signings had set the tone for an exciting season for the club.Queens plays friendly matches against two clubs from the north Bots Rail and Miscellaneous to gauge their readiness. Their biggest coup seems the recruitment of Ngwako, who has previously had stints with the national team.

Ngwako was instrumental at Notwane in the past few seasons and is expected to combine well with Queens' attack that has the likes of captain Lilian Rankwe and Patricia Olsen. Meanwhile, Mogale revealed they had promoted a few junior players from their development side. He, however, added they were still in search of a goal defender to fortify their backline.
