Miscellaneous moot privatisation

This is expected to happen tomorrow morning at Serowe Hotel during the club's elective Annual General Meeting (AGM). Miscellaneous vice chairperson Baratiwa Mathootle said election of the new committee is on the agenda, but it has proved not to be a pressing issue. Mathootle said nobody has expressed interest in challenging the current committee.He said the likelihood is that the current committee would continue leading the club as the Miscellaneous' family is focusing on dealing with critical issues, which nearly worked against the team's survival in the league.'We nearly relegated last season because of the challenges the club faced,' said Mathootle, adding that every member of the Miscellaneous' family is focusing on addressing the challenges not increasing them.

Mathootle said Miscellaneous was on the road week in week out - a development that resulted in its offers drying up. At one point, Miscellaneous struggled to pay players.Mathootle confirmed that players nearly embarked on an industrial action in protest over unpaid salaries for months. 'We have high expenditure and to solve this problem of high expenditure, we need to buy a bus,' said Mathootle. Miscellaneous were forced to travel every week because there is no standard stadium in Serowe. Tse Nala, as Miscellaneous is affectionately known in football circles has been allocated a 6-hectare land by the Ngwato Land Board. 'The land is currently lying idle because the club does not have the necessary funds to develop,' said Mathootle. He is positive that the land can be developed into a money-spinning structure.

It is against this backdrop that Miscellaneous is seeking a membership endorsement to look for corporate partners ahead of the 2013/14 be MOBILE Premier Soccer League season. Mathootle remains optimistic that the supporters will give the management the green light to seek partnership with magnates with a better financial muscle. He said the management's position is to turn around Miscellaneous' fortunes.Miscellaneous finished 10th last season.
