Who takes the Player of the Season award?

In the Player of the Season Mochudi Centre Chiefs' midfielder, Elvis Meleka, will battle it out with Topo Piet of Nico United and Gaborone United's (GU) Alphonse Modisaotsile. Meleka has been a consistent performer for his side, helping them win the league back-to-back.  Meleka arrived at Chiefs at the beginning of last season together with his countryman, Arnold Chaka and gave Chiefs the much-needed stability at the back and midfield. Even at the time when Chiefs suffered a slump in form, Meleka maintained his form.

Piet on the other hand has been a revelation for Nico this past season. He was one of the most outstanding stars for Nico, helping them finish second on the log. Modisaotsile has been GU's key player this season, taking over from where Ofentse Nato - who moved to South Africa at the beginning of the season - left off. He has given GU's shaky defence cover and managed to contain some of the best attacking midfielders in the local league with ease. The winner will walk away with P50, 000.

In the Coach of the Season award category, Nico United's Elijah Chikwanda has been nominated together with Madinda Ndlovu (Chiefs) and David Bright (GU). Chikwanda turned Nico, who had been a mid-table side, into a formidable side that pushed Chiefs for the league title up to the last three matches.Ndlovu became the first Chiefs' mentor to win the league title in two consecutive seasons. He has won two out of the three league titles ever won by the Kgatleng giants.

Bright on the other hand arrived at GU at the start of the season from South Africa.GU started the season as one of the favourites for the title although they faded towards the start of the first round. They finished the league in fifth position. The supporters have also been given a chance to vote for their favourite Player of the Season. Who will it be?
