DJ Foxy a proud DJ Zinhle protege

DJ Foxy made a break through to become one of the most recognised talented female DJs in the country.DJ Foxy says her talent was nurtured and perfected at two of the best DJ schools.'I have a certificate from one of the best schools in Gaborone, YDJ, that is owned by Leatile Solomon and I am very lucky to have had the chance to be taught by the legendary DJ Zinhle at her school, Fuse Academy in South Africa,' she said.DJ Foxy said schooling at Fuse Academy shaped her into the DJ she is today. She says what sets her apart from other DJs is her desire to really move her audience.'I always want to understand and make mixes that my crowd will not only appreciate but be comfortable with and be able to dance to them,' she said.She said Fuse Academy helped her by training, mentoring and tutoring. At the academy, she was equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge required to succeed in the entertainment industry.

'I learnt a lot from the school. It empowers young, talented females to become DJ's that will be respected and recognised, not only in their countries but all over the world, just like Zinhle,' she said.This talented lady is able to rock dance floors with her excellent skills on the turntables. 'My love and passion for music made me consider becoming a DJ and entertainer. So when I started, it was a man's world I wanted to get in there and prove that we as women can also do it just as well,' she said.She tells Showbiz that she has so far learnt that there is no difference between a male and female DJ and is happy that the number of local female DJs is growing. She said: 'It shows that our place is no longer in the kitchen but also behind the decks.'
