Speaking at the official launch of the company's website last week, Property Valuations and Investments Analyst, Baalakani Nlumbile said with today's property market experiencing change and uncertainty, it is imperative that people understand their most important financial assets.
Seeing as more Batswana are looking into selling and procuring properties for future investments, Nlumbile advised that an accurate property valuation is critical to making successful property investment decisions. He stressed that property valuers are regulated by the Property Act, which is why people hoping to sell their property should seek valuations from professionals to avoid being ripped off or selling at unreasonable high price.
Moreover, Nlumbile urged people to move away from the misconceived thinking that property valuation prices are high, so that they can make informed investment decisions. He said: 'Without a property valuations report, one may sell their property at a low cost when it could be high, or try to sell at a higher price which may mean it becomes a struggle to sell the property to prospective buyers.'
He further explained that considering Seeff Property Botswana's experience in selling real estate and procuring buyers, it was critical that it form a property valuations and investments analysis division to be able to assist property buyers and sellers. He said the division was established in 2012.Seeff Director, Kim Bekker for her part explained that Seeff Botswana has established its brand in Botswana in 2004 after buying the license from Seeff South Africa. She said with the growing number of clientele across the globe, it was befitting to create an interactive platform where property information could be assessed easily.
Meanwhile, Bekker said Seeff hiking property prices would depend on property markets which vary, so the pricing is based according to market research and property value.
